Please! POSTED AT 04:34 PM It is so important to let Carlo know that he's not alone and that there's a lot people caring about him. He's in jail because of an angry woman revenge. Go and read the article I've linked above. It's a good summary of the situation (written in fluent english!! A useful post POSTED AT 12:33 PM His name's Carlo Parlanti. Now he's in Ventura County (Ca) prison, because his ex girlfriend, Rebecca White, on the 18th of July 2002, reported him to the police, saying he did beat her, imprisoned her and raped her, on the 29th of June. The point is that he's not guilty. He got to know of this report during summer of 2004, on a businness trip in Germany. As he arrived to the airport in Dusseldorf, the police caught him, while he still ignored what was going on. Since then, he never had the occasion to go back to Italy, or have this trial run in his Country, at least to have his own family close to him. No. He spent several months in this German jail, and then he's been sent in the US... Like the fact that his being an Italian wasn't actually relevant... They treated him like he was an American (and they didn't even consider that a person is not guilty until the end of the trial). So, he's in prison for a long long time. He gets ill too (TBC...) and has no treatments for that. His family and friends are all so far away form him. He doesn't even have somebody to whom he can talk of his trial in his own mother language! They forgot he's not Amercian. And it even looks that this fact may be a disadvantage (as far as Italian witnesses too look less relevant in the trial acts...). They forgot how hard it can be having not a friend close to you when you're in need (and facing a trial is always hard, no matter if you're guilty or not). And, as it wasn't enough, money's almost over. His girl, here in Italy, and his family are struggling to put some money together to pay the lawyer in the US. And describing his fee as expensive, isn't enough. They already payed 100,000 $ and they're not so rich or wealthy to have no problems at all with that. So, over the stress and the suffering because of the report/prison/life destroyed/trial stuff, there's also the one about money. And do you know what is the "fun"? He's not guilty at all. Ms. White is the most inconsitent person I've ever known (only from reading the acts). At first, she's dumped by Carlo. Their relationship ends and this woman looses the man who gives her a house and money... So, anger and frustration are ok at this point. I can also understand that his being a handsome man, who likes life, women, activity, may hurt a bit for a newly ex girlfriend... But then revenge can't be so cruel. She reported the incident to the police after about 20 days. Carlo already left the town for a businness trip. She said that one night (29th of June), he beated her very hard (like hitting her head against a wall for about 30 times...and Carlo is muscular and strong... I'd personally be dead in that case, but maybe she's a robot), kicking her ribs, fisting his hand into her vagina and anus and raped her many times in the same night... All this stuff, she said, happened after that he drunk about 6 (6!!) bottles of wine. Now, an ordinary person, after all that amount of wine, would be almost dead... and in the best occasion, he couldn't be able to have sex (impossible erection at least)! The only thing he could do was sleeping! So, guess how a woman should look like after a night like that. After some days, and especially on the report day, people said she looked ok. No bruises or injuries at all on her face and her head... She could walk... And, this is great, she never EVER had a MED/LEG examination!!!!! 1. she reporst the incident very late; 2. she never got an examination of genital/anus nor a med/leg. 3. she changes her versions every single time she talks of this case. 4. she looked ok, without any phisical trauma (after all that supposed violence?!) Many other points are in favor of Carlo. His a handsome man, likes sports, life in general... He doesn't need to be violent to have a girl! Especially an older (than him) one, with an adult daughter (who was 24 in '02)... He'd easily could date a younger one, maybe even prettier, if he just wanted to... Then, why being violent with this woman, after having already closed the relationship with her. He was "free"... He didn't need to have Ms. White just for him anymore. It seems more real and truth, that she was very very angry with him. And I can even understand. But what I don't understand is how cruel she is. She destroied a man's life. So, I'm trying to help his girl, Katia, in doing something to take him out of prison. She also went on an italian tv show, several months ago... Wrote to journals (also the Ventura County Star), radios... She's doing whatever she can do to let people know what's happening. Because, I want to clear this, it doesn't seem like politicians, tv news etc. are very involved in this case. So, she tries every way she can. And I try to help her, cause I can't even imagine how much I would suffer in her situation. The man you love, your best friend is in jail because of a woman's revenge. Terrible. I'm writing this, hoping that some of you may do something. Do you know any journalist? Someone at the radio, local tv... Anybody who can help us in letting people know about this story? I'm not leading a sort of battle against the US legal system. Italy too has it's own problems, sometimes, with it... Perfection and absolute justice maybe are just for God... But we have to do the best we can to reach the highest level of justice in this not perfect world . Thank you. Oh no! POSTED AT 10:56 PM This year I really don't feel like going out and doing some wild wild shopping... I'm not in the mood... And my wallet is so empty that there's echo inside it. I bought a new book of italian coocking recipes... It's huge! Maybe I should give it to mommy... Ok, but then, what do I buy to daddy? And to Max? And to my cousin Lorenzo? And to his japanese gf? I can't manage to save the situation with a compilation of music burnt by me..this year too! Maybe it could be a nice surprise having no gifts at all! Nobody expect it!  Naaa... A Christmas time without even a small package to open is sad... Oh, I must think...stay focused....think! Gnngnngngnngngn!!! The tonight movie POSTED AT 01:01 AM But I really have to say this: why did they chose this actress who's just a bunch of bones?! She's so slim you can see through her!! I mean, tv is full of slim women, but this one was way too thin! As far as overweight girls are not allowed to be movie stars (unless they play the geek role), also too slim ones should deserve the same service... If fat is disturbing, for the show biz, it should be the same for skinny people. But probably they think that the more you're thin, the more you'll be successfull... What a shit. |
